Promote the deep integration of digital economy and real economy

"The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed to accelerate the development of the digital economy, promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, and build a digital industrial cluster with international competitiveness." On the morning of November 16, Yang Jie, Chairman of China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd., attended the opening ceremony and theme summit of the 2022 China International Digital Economy Expo online and delivered a video speech. After the speech, he gave a telephone interview to the reporter. Yang Jie believes that the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has pointed out the direction for the development of China’s digital economy and provided fundamental guidance. To realize the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, we should accelerate the promotion of "integration and innovation" in three aspects.

"Accelerate the integrating innovation of information and energy." Yang Jie said that throughout history, information and energy are the two main threads driving the progress of human civilization. In the era of information civilization, the development of energy mainline has successively formed the real economy of agriculture, industry, service industry. The evolution of information mainline has spawned the digital economy with the application of information technology as the main feature. As the process of information and energy integration and innovation continues to accelerate, the digital economy and the real economy will also accelerate the realization of deep integration and development. We should give full play to the key role of information in the development of human civilization, strive to solve the "best function" of information and energy integration and innovation, and promote economic and social development to achieve higher quality and more sustainable development.

Yang Jie believes that the second is to accelerate the integration and innovation of new generation information technology. With the continuous development of the new generation of information technology, the scope of information is expanding from words, symbols, voice, images and videos to higher dimensions such as machine hearing, machine vision and machine touch. It is difficult for a single information technology to solve large-scale and complex problems. We should focus on common needs and key areas, strengthen integration and system innovation, improve the overall effectiveness of the new generation of information technology, give full play to the leading role of data elements in integrated innovation, give full play to the supporting role of computing networks in integrated innovation, and give full play to the role of capacity sharing in promoting integrated innovation.

"At present, the new generation of information technology has accelerated its penetration into all areas of the economy and society, bringing about profound changes in the way of production, lifestyle and social governance." Yang Jie said that we should accelerate the integration and innovation of information service system and economic and social operation system. We will vigorously promote a new information service system consisting of connectivity, computing power and capabilities, accelerate its integration into production, life and governance, create a model benchmark, and make breakthroughs in scale. We will promote digital and intelligent production, meet the urgent needs of high-quality development in agriculture, industry, service industry and other fields, and advance the digital transformation of the entire production and manufacturing process. We will build a digital and intelligent life, and rely on more convenient online, intelligent, and cloud based means to promote various life scenes, such as food, clothing, housing, and transportation, to achieve a deep integration of online and offline. We will empower digital and intelligent governance, focus on achieving more efficient and sophisticated social governance, rely on cross-sectoral, cross-regional and cross-hierarchical information infrastructure to build solutions in key areas such as digital government, smart cities, digital villages and smart communities.

"Accelerating the 'integration and innovation' of the above three aspects is not a one-man show of one or several enterprises, but a chorus of all social parties." Yang Jie believes that in this process, information and communication operators need to further play the "shoulder effect" of expanding investment and promoting consumption, and demonstrate their responsibilities in serving the deep integration of digital economy and real economy.

Yang Jie said that Hebei is an important part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei world-class urban agglomeration. Under the guidance of Hebei Provincial Party Committee and the People’s of Government of Hebei Province, China Mobile has deepened the layout of information infrastructure in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, actively participated in the planning and construction of smart cities in Xiong'an New Area, empowered the digital transformation and upgrading of ports, manufacturing, energy, mining and others, and contributed to accelerating the construction of a strong economic province and a beautiful Hebei.
